Benalla Health and Wellbeing Action Group

The Benalla Health and Wellbeing Action Group's mission is, quite simply, to improve the health and wellbeing of the community in Benalla & District. The action group is working towards this mission through four key strategies:
• Health Promotion
• Chronic Disease Prevention and Early Intervention
• Community Building, and
• Improved access and coordination of services

The Action Group seeks to provide a forum for communication between health and community service providers and the community by building partnerships and supporting community initiatives.

Members of the Benalla Health and Wellbeing Action Group are:
o Benalla Health
o Central Hume PCP
o Benalla Rural City
o Council Member
o Community Services Manager OR General Manager Corporate and Community Services
o NESAY
o Yooralla (ex CAL)
o A representative from the Education, Training & Employment Action Development Team - (Barb Alexander)
o Salvation Army
o St Vincent De Paul
o Communities Representation
o Women's Health Goulburn North East

The Benalla Health and Wellbeing Action Group meets on the first Monday of every month in the Benalla Community Care building.




Health Indicator Factsheet

This gendered Health Indicator factsheet provide a snap shot of health and wellbeing in Benalla. It draws on statistics regarding indicators such as breastfeeding, overweight/obesity, physical activity, social connection, mental health and drugs and alcohol. These have been created to assist Local Governments in developing their Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plans.
